Battery (NiCad) Rejuvenator - Don't throw away those seemingly un-chargeable, rechargeable batteries; they could very well be brought back to life with the aid of this simple circuit ….(Tony van Roon's Tony van Roon)
Battery Charger Takes on Two Roles - 01/01/98 EDN-Design Ideas: The NiCd and NiMH battery charger in Figure 1 applies a battery fast-charge controller IC in a way that not only provides peak-voltage fast-charge termination--as  IC was designed to do--but also precisely regulates  charge current. The design also features maximum-temperature backup shutdown. Efficiency exceeds 90% at a VIN of 14V.....(design idea added 4/02)
Battery Charger with LM317 -  LM317 regulator is used to regulate the voltage and current for this circuit. This battery charger should be used only for Ni-Cad cells. Other type of batteries (li-ion, NiMh, Lead and Li-ion polymer) needs special care so it cannot be used. …(electronic design added 07/07/07)
Battery Chargers Indicates Rate of Charge - 05/25/95 EDN-Design Ideas: A single LED indicates wher  battery Chargers s delivering a trickle charge or a fast charge, circuit designed to charge2-14 cells.....(design idea added 4/02)

Battery NiCad Rejuvenator - Electronic circuit (Tony van Roon's electronic design added 9/04)
Bringing NiCd's from the Dead - ASCII format (circuit design added 10/06)
Car NiCd Charger - This circuit provides up to20-Volt output from a regular13.2V automotive battery, to enable constant current charging of NiCd battery packs up to15 cells @1.2V (Tony van Roon's 18V total). (Tony van Roon's electronic design added 4/02)
Charger Serves Load While Charging Battery - 07/03/97 EDN-Design Ideas: (design idea added 4/02)
Chargers Delivers 25 with 96% Efficiency - 10/12/95 EDN-Design Ideas: (design idea added 4/02)
Charging NiMH Cells - The latest rechargeable cell on the market is Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH). It has a cell voltage of 1.2v (called "Terminal Voltage" as it is the voltage across the terminals of the cell) and a capacity higher than previous types of cells. It's a real advancement in technology....(electronic design added 08/08/08)
Choosing & Using Nickel-Metal-Hydride (NiMH) Rechargeable Batteries - The number of portable gadgets that we use has grown substantially in the last few decades. Many of these, such as TV remote controls, some digital cameras, handheld GPS units, and flashlights, are designed to operate on either disposable alkaline batteries or rechargeable, and hence reusable, Nickel-Metal-Hydride (NiMH) batteries.….(circuit added 03/09)
Constant Current Battery Charger - A simple method of charging a battery from a higher voltage battery is shown in the circuit below to the left. Only one resistor is needed to set the desired charging current and is calculated by dividing the difference in battery voltages by the charge current. So, for example if 4 high capacity (4000 mA hour) ni-cads are to be charged at 300 mA from a 12 volt battery, the resistor need,....(circuit added 7/02)
DC Input Controls Efficient Battery Charger - 03/02/95 EDN-Design Ideas: (design idea added 4/02)
Design Considerations for Battery Charger Using Green Mode Fairchild Power Switch FPStm/ AN-4138 - Fairchild Application Notes / (app note added 6/06)
