The Emperor's New Amplifier  - I spent much of 1997 designing and building my ultimate dream amplifier, which I named "The Emperor's New Amplifier"TM (TENA) for a quality it shares with the fabled emperor's wardrobe-- transparency. It was also an oblique reference to the marketing hype that pollutes high-end audio. I thought about commercializing it, especially when the lab where I worked announced it was shutting down, but I soon realized that marketing high-end tube amplifiers is not a reliable (design added 004/02/02)
The Kumisa III Headphone Amplifier  - A discrete all-bipolar, zero feedback class A amplifier with a new opamp-based servo. The servo operates outside the audio feedback loop by controlling a pair of current mirrors at the input stage.  Designed by Benny Jørgensen  (circuit design added 01/08)
The Leach Amp - One amplifier builder found that the 2N5416 PNP transistors that he purchased were NPN. I have tested them and verified this. Two of the transistors are shown in the linked photo. They are identified by the letters ON surrounded by a circle, signifying they are products of ON Semiconductor. You can check...(added 07/07/07)

The Miller Effect - ...(spice design added 02/09)
The Miller Integrator - ...(spice design added 02/09)
The Morgan Jones Mini Tube Headphone Amplifier - This reverse-engineered version of the famous EarMax headphone amplifier has just 3 tubes, uses no global feedback, and is powered from an 19VAC wall-wart. Includes two additional versions of this amplifier optimized for driving low impedance headphones and simulation files for use with OrCAD Lite software.  Designed by Chu Moy  (circuit design added 01/08)
The SESS Tube Headphone Amplifier  - The author describes the construction of a very simple single-ended, single-stage, single-tube (SESS) tube headphone amplifier with a reference power supply that uses a tube rectifier in a hybrid Graetz bridge configuration.  Designed by Andrea Ciuffoli  (circuit design added 01/08)
The Technology of the Fuzz Face - The Fuzz Face remains an enigma today, perhaps three decades after it first hit the market. This simple, two transistor circuit remains for many the very definition of the guitar effects stomp pedal. What makes such a simple circuit the stuff of legend?....(circuit design added 04/05/06)
The Zen Headphone Amplifier - A single-ended, class A MOSFET headphone amplifier with an active current source that results in increased efficiency (50%) and lower distortion. The active current source is based on a patented design featured in the Aleph power amplifiers from Pass Laboratories.  Designed by Marcello Pellerano  (circuit design added 03/08)
Theory and Construction of MIC Splitters - (electronic schematic / circuit added 4/02)
Thermofan to Keep Your Amp Cool - (diagram added 6/03)
Three Band Equalizer - (electronic Circuit diagram added 03/03/03)
Three Transistor Audio Amp 50 Milliwatt - Here is a little audio amplifier similar to what you might find in a small transistor radio. (added 4/02)
Tiny audio amplifier using LM386 - ….(electronic schematic added 08/08)
Tips on the MP3 Player Kit - The kit version of the MP3 player has been released. This document is tips for building the MP3 player kit and modification hints.  (added 10/05)
Tone Control (Andy Collinson) - Based on the classic Baxendall tone control circuit, this provides a maximum cut and boost of around 10dB at 10K and 50Hz. As the controls are passive, the last transistor provides a slight boost. The output….(added 07/07/07)
Top-Level OTL Tube Headphone Amplifier - This article shows my tube headphone amplifier designs for driving headphones with an impedance of 200 to 600 ohms (I am using these amplifiers with the Sennheiser 580, which has a 300-ohm impedance). The problem with many tube headphone amplifiers ....(circuit design added 07/06)
Transistor Organ (Aaron Cake) - This simple circuit can provide hours of enjoyment as you learn tunes, play duets or just make some really weird sounds by pushing all the buttons at once. You have probably seen this circuit before, it is fairly common. I have seen it in several....designed by Aaron Cake (added 04/03/02)
Tube active crossover - (diagram added 2/07)
Tube Amplifier Kit - The amplifier kit uses two 11MS8 tubes per channel. The two DC blocking capacitors and the four coupling capacitors are metallized polyester, while Samsung aluminum electrolytic capacitors are used to filter the solid-state power supply. ….(design added 11/08)
