Efficient unipolar stepper motor
driver (only uses power when it makes a step) - This
circuit is based on the UNIPOLAR stepper motor. The main feature of this circuit is low power consumption in the
motor circuit. This is achieved by only turning on the individual outputs of the driver for 1/10th of a second
for each step the motor makes. . . [from Rob Paisley's Model Train web site]

Failsafe
multichip LED module driver - 05/12/14 EDN Design Idea
Keep a power LED module with multiple strings operating despite fault conditions. The operational life of an LED
depends upon how effectively the current flowing through it is kept within the specified limits under all
possible working conditions. For multi-chip LED modules, the tightly binned LEDs are arranged in strings having
multiple LEDs connected in series, parallel, or series-parallel configurations, sharing a common constant current
or voltage source, and each LED string is typically driven at a regulated current that is substantially equal
among all of the LED strings. Although a small imbalance in string currents does not cause noticeable differences
in brightness, parameters like the compound forward voltage (sum of VF of all LEDs connected in series), and its
critical dependence on temperature and magnitude of forward current (IF) flowing through it,. . . [by Subodh

Fast precision LED driver
- The circuit allows a precision regulated drive current to be set
to drive an LED, and in response to a TTL level signal, the LED is switched on and off with rise and fall times
of less than 500 nanoseconds and less than 7% overshoot. This was designed for biological experiments to study
the photo repsonse of cone cells rabbit eyes. . . [From Dick Cappels' project pages]
Feedback Circuit Eliminates CCD-Driver Delay Mismatch
- 09/18/03 EDN Design Idea In a CCD (charge-coupled device], packets of

Flashing
LED Advertising Badge #1 - I have seen numerous
flashing light badges at trade shows and conventions. They are often handed out as gifts to promote some
business. The devices often use inefficient circuits, which cause the battery power source to be quickly depleted

Flyback Transformer Driver
- This is by far the best project for someone who is already familiar with
High Voltage, but wants to take their experiments to the next level: It requires very little previous experience
and skills with soldering and identifying components, and there are virtually no adjustments to be made. The
danger is minimal, as fly back transformers are intrinsically low power devices, not capable of outputting lethal
currents (due to the hair-thin secondary windings) , and. . .

Glowplug Driver for Radio Control
- An on/off switch is not required for the glowplug driver since it
only draws current when a glowplug is attached. As a matter of fact, the circuit is only powered (via Q1) via a
connected glowplug. Just in case you were wondering how the positive (+) side of the circuit is connected. The
starter motor runs directly from the flight box battery, via the jacks on the power-panel, and has it's own
on/off switch. Same scenario for the fuel pump, but includes a reverse switch to pump the fuel in or out the
tank/cannister. . . [Tony van Roon's circuit]
