Marx Flasher - File contains several designs, please scroll to find this circuit. Here is a strange-looking flasher that uses an unusual form of the Marx high voltage multiplier. The traditional Marx multiplier uses spark gaps to repetitively charge capacitors from a high voltage supply (in parallel) then to suddenly connect them in series to generate a much higher voltage, near N times the supply voltage where N is the number of capacitors. This multiplier uses Lumex gas tube transient suppressors (GT-RLSA3230D) as the spark gap, providing reliable and repeatable triggering at about 250 volts (much lower than the typical spark gap) . The 120 volt line voltage is rectified and doubled to provide enough voltage to trigger the suppressors and to reduce the required number of stages. __ Contact: Charles Wenzel of Wenzel Associates, Inc.
Message Waiting Flasher - This circuit starts flashing a neon light when the phone rings and continues flashing it until the phone is picked up to remind you to check your voice-mail. The flashing neon light drives a voltage doubler (Q2) which keeps it flashing. Q1 ensures that the __ Designed by Andrew R. Morris
Micro-Power Flasher - With this micro-power flasher you can baffle the intruders trying to break into your home. The unit continuously emits flashing light both during day and night giving the impression that the...__ Electronics Projects for You
Mini Pocket Strobe - This circuit is a mini storoscope which you can make so small that it can fit into your pocket. The circuit is not very powerful, but is works out of two small 1.5V batteries for an hour constantly and maximum flash rate. The flash rate is variable from zero to about 10 Hz. Quite nice small device to have with you in parties to gain attention __ Designed by Tomi Engdahl
Miniature Stobe Light - It is a circuit for a strobe light that uses a neon glow lamp with reflector to create an effect of a strobe light. __ Electronics Projects for You
Mint Tin Bike Light - This year I’ve been going on a lot of bike rides with friends, sometimes on public roadways, sometimes after dark. My bike has a nine watt 500 some odd lumen headlight, which makes it easy to see where I’m going, and definitely makes me __ Designed by Radio LocMan
Miser Flash - A flashing LED at the doorstep of your garage or home will trick the thieves into believing that a sophisticated security gadget is installed. The circuit is nothing but a low-current...__ Electronics Projects for You
Model Aeroplane Navigation Strobe/Battery Level Indicator - If you are interested in model aeroplanes and have the capital, a radio controlled electric park flyer is a must have. An RC aeroplane under 400 grams floats around like the rubber models of my youth and contact with the ground doesn't seems to involve that sickening crunch __ Contact: r dot p @ webone.com.au
Model Airplane Wing Tip Flasher - The circuit below is designed to flash two white LEDs mounted at the wing tips of a model airplane. The flasher unit is powered by a 4.5v supply made of three AA or AAA 1.5v alkaline battery cells. The average current is about 2ma so a set of batteries . . . Hobby Circuit designed by David A. Model Lighthouse - This project was designed for a model lighthouse to flash a lamp or LED in a simple sequence: two flashes of 2s with a short gap of 1s, followed by a longer gap of 5s before repeating the sequence. A 4017 counter is used to produce the flash sequence and this project includes information on how to adapt it to give a different flash sequence __ Designed by John Hewes
Model Railway Level Crossing Lights - The level crossing warning lights are switched on automatically as a train approaches. First an amber light shows, then two red lights flash until the train has passed the crossing. __ Designed by John Hewes
Model Railway Signal - This signal is controlled automatically by a passing train fitted with a magnet. It can also be manually set to red or green by pressing the switches. Trains will automatically stop at the red signal. __ Designed by John Hewes
Model Train Lighthouse Flasher Revisited - HO train sets often have authentic looking scale model homes and buildings. A while back someone asked me to design a flashing LED light, which he could mount inside a model lighthouse and have it operate so it would appear to rotate and flash. I designed a working circuit but I was never pleased with the results. I’m still not 100% pleased but the revised circuit below seems to operate a bit better than the older circuit. … [ . . . Model Train Lights - This simple circuit stops model train light from flickering when riding over cross roads, track-lane-changers, or lesser quality pieces of track. __ Designed by Tony van Roon VA3AVR
Modified LED Night Light - I bought some night lights a few months ago from Walmart here in Denver. The devices were made by Elumina Lighting Technologies Inc. (www. eluminalighting. com) , their model LED-6200A. I think I paid about $15 for a pack of three lights. I wanted a light . . . Hobby Circuit designed by David Johnson P.E.-May, 2007
Momentary Touch Activated Switch - A single 1.5v silver oxide button cell powers this complete touch activated switch circuit for 5 years. It features both a normally open and a normally closed set of solid-state switch thermals. It also has an adjustable sensitivity, which can be set for a touch capacitance change as small as 1 picofarad. . . . Hobby Circuit designed by Dave Johnson P.E.-January, 2002
Motion Controlled Blinking Eyes - 13-May-14 -Design News: This is Mark II of my Animatronic Eyes, which was created for someone who wanted to animate a rock sculpture. The eyes themselves were made with plastic Easter egg tops, which fit perfectly as eyelids over ping pong balls. The problem there becomes one of mounting and alignment. In this version, __ Gadget Freak-Case #254
Motorcycle Brake Light Flasher - Several years ago one car manufacturer added a rapid flasher to their brake lights. Wow! Those things really got your attention when the driver stepped on the brakes. But, if you ever had to stop behind one at a traffic light at night, you were likely to go into seizures from the strobing, rear lights covering your field of vision. I think they dumped the idea __ Designed by Tony van Roon VA3AVR
Motorcycle Low Voltage Warning - This circuit is connected to your motorcycle. It's tapped into a circuit thats only powered with the key "ON". If you turn the bike off with the kill-switch and leave the key on, as you know, the headlight will stay on and quickly drain the battery. __ Designed by Tony van Roon VA3AVR
Motorcycle Turn-signal SystE - M - This circuit is based on the CMOS
IC from Motorola, the MC14049UB Hex Inverting Buffer. Of course, the regular CD4049 can be used and is pin-for-pin compatible. The 4049 is a 16-pin chip.
