Regulated 12V 500mA power supply -  This circuit above uses a 13 volt zener diode, D2 which provides the voltage regulation. Aprroximately 0.7 Volts are dropped across the transistors b-e junction, leaving a higher current 12.3 Volt output supply. This circuit can supply loads of up to 500 mA. Running 12V Fan Directly on 220V AC -  This circuit idea is certainly not new, but when it comes to making a trade-of between using a small, short-circuit proof transformer or a capacitive voltage divider (directly from 230 V mains voltage) as the power supply for a fan, it can come in very handy.__ Learning Electronics

Safety Guard-Simple Circuit unit, Protects home appliances from voltage spikes -  Protect your home appliances from voltage spikes with this simple time delay circuit.  Whenever power to the appliances is switched on or resumes after mains failure, the oscillator starts oscillating and D5 blinks.  This continues for three minutes.  After that, Q14 output of IC CD4060 goes high to trigger the gate of the SCR through D4.  At this moment, the voltage is available at the cathode of the SCR, which energizes the relay coil to activate the appliance and D6 glows.  Switch SW1 is used for quick start without waiting for delay.__ Learning Electronics

Single to 3-phase power conversion -  The single phase 220 VAC input is brought in on lines 1 and 2, labeled L1 and L2 in figure 1.  Time delay cartridge fuses are used for short circuit protection.1R-1 and 1R-2 are the main contacts for the magnetic contactor (power relay.) The coil for this relay is denoted 1R.  The run capacitors are wired between lines 1-3 and lines 2-3.  The overloads are part of a thermal overload relay with a normally closed contact labeled OL-1.  This contact will open if any overload is tripped.  Opening this contact disables the flow of current through the 120 VAC control circuit deenergizing the coil 1R.  The idler motor terminals are labeled T1, T2, and T3 __ Designed by John - K3PGP

Solar charger for lead-acid batteries. -  This circuit is still under development, but works well as shown.  This circuit is intended for charging lead-acid batteries with a solar panel.  The customary diode that prevents the battery from discharging through the solar panel has been replaced by a FET-comparator combination.  The charger will stop charging once a pre-set voltage (temperature compensated) has been reached, and recommence charging when the voltage has dropped off sufficiently.  The load is disconnected when the baterry voltage drops below 11V and reconnected when it gets back to 12.5V. __ Contact IQ Technologies
