- LOW BATTERY VOLTAGE FLASHER
This circuit is designed to monitor two alkaline cells (3v) that from the battery often used in portable electronic equipment. It use an inexpensive IC from Panasonic that is connected to an
efficient LED flashing circuit. When the battery voltage drops below a certain point the circuit flashes the LED. In the off state the circuit draws only 1uA, while in the active flashing state
it draws 20uA. Published in EDN, Jan 2, 1997

- Lighthouse LED Flasher
This was originally designed for a model in a HO train set. It simulates the behavior of the light from a lighthouse. The LED intensity gradually increases, then flashes with a
bright light and finally decreases slowly in intensity.

Lantern Flasher/Dimmer #3: The electronic lantern control circuit adds high-efficiency dimming and flashing to an existing
battery-powered lantern or flashlight or to a custom design. For the car it makes a great lamp for changing a flat tire, back seat reading or emergency engine work. The flasher mode is
useful for warning other drivers of your troubles and it may be adjusted to have a very short flash duration for long-term use as when the car must be left on the shoulder over night. When
camping it is great as a low-power night light for the tent or the portable 'potty'--you may select only as much
light as you need! The flasher mode is useful for finding a boat dock in the dark or even attracting fish. At home,... (added 2/06) |

LED Flasher and TRAC Pulser Work off AC Line: 01/15/98 EDN-Design Ideas / (added 08/05) A flashing LED is an excellent visual
alarm. Unfortunately, the LED is a dc device and requires additional circuitry to operate from an ac source. Several circuits can perform the necessary function, but the circuit in Figure 1a is
the most efficient. This circuit is also reliable, compact, and inexpensive. |

LEDs Flasher Alternately: Classic astable multivibrator using2 transistors. Transistor is not critical. Try
these:2N4401,2N2222, NTE123A, NTE123AP, NTE159, TUP/TUN and those in your junk box, you may find that most of them will work. (added 4/02) |

Light Dimmer Circuit with 0 to 10 Volt Input: This is a simple dimmer circuit that can be controlled with0 -10 VDC. It is
designed for110-Volt AC. (added 6/06) |

Light Flasher(blinking lights): This is a very basic circuit for flashing one or more LEDS and also to alternately flash one or
more LEDs.
It uses a 555 timer setup as an astable multivibrator with a variable frequency.
With the preset at its max. the flashing rate of the LED is about 1/2 a second. It can be increased by increasing the value of the capacitor from 10uF to a higher value. For example if it is
increased to 22uF the flashing rate becomes 1 second. (added 10/05) |
