Electronically Generate Rotating Magnetic Fields - 18-Feb-10 EDN-Design Ideas - Generate magnetic fields with a microcontroller instead of mechanical parts Design by F Ferrero, J Blanco, JC Campo, and M Valledor, University of Oviedo, Gijón, Spain
Embedded Processor Directly Drives LCD - 01/09/03 EDN-Design Ideas - Driving a bare LCD does not necessarily require specialized interface circuitry or peripherals. This design idea describes an alternative drive scheme, which you can easily implement using the general-purpose outputs of a microcontroller. Many embedded-system applications need to interact with a user by displaying simple numeric or alphanumeric characters Design by Daniel Malik, Motorola, Czech Republic
Emergency Power - This unit was constructed in a plastic 4-outlet juction box ($5 from Home Depot) . The front panel is cut from 60-thou Lexan, and a scrapped Pep-Boys battery charger provided the transformer. The PIC16F870 keeps track of battery voltage as well as both charging and discharging currents. __ Designed by Luhan Monat - Mesa Arizona
Emergency Vehical Flasher - There are several projects on this page. Please scroll down to find the LED Chaser. __ Designed by Jason KE4NYV from Roanoke, Virginia
Encrypted routines impede hackers, protect licenses - 04/04/02 EDN-Design Ideas - The use of public-key-encrypted algorithms within licensed applications can prevent hackers from cracking the licensed algorithms. Moreover, you can use them to disable licensed features that a user doesn't purchase. Licensing schemes eventually arrive at some critical decision point at which an algorithm decIdeas whether the user is entitled to run that application Design by Lawrence Arendt, Oak Bluff, MB, Canada
EPROM adapter for ATMEL 89 Programmer - The EEprom programmer software supports the following devices.28C16 28C256 28C17 29C256 28C64 __ Designed by Kyriakos Kontakos
EPROM Programmer Mk2 - This design was never completely finished, so consider it to be in the very early experimental stage. I don't sell kits, programmed PLD's, or provide support for this project, and I will never be published. But if you want to take a bash at making it yourself, be my guest, it may or may not work, I guarantee nothing. Try it at your own risk. PLEASE don't contact me about this __ Designed by David L. Jones
ErICsson Cell Phone Display GA628 - The GA628 display provides a 12 character alphanumeric display , some icons in the second line and power consumption of some 100 uA. It can easily be connected to the hardware, simply by soldering some wires. The only disadvantage is , it needs a 3.3 V power supply and something around 5.6V. However, this code and the MSP430 provides a clock for a simple charge pump, realized with 3 diodes __ Designed by Robert Tyrakowski
ESR Meter Mk.2 - Forget about capcitance meters; an ESR meter is the way to go when it comes to identifying faulty electros.__ SiliconChip
ESR Meter Mk.2 - The easy way to identify faulty electros__ SiliconChip
Experimental DDS frequency synthesizer uses the AD9851 - This DDS generator uses the AD9851, which is like an AD9850 but includes an internal 6x reference clock multiplier. I use it with a 10.000MHz OCXO, type HCD71. __ Designed by Hans Summers
Experimental Study Of Switched-Capacitor Circuit - In recent years switched-capacitor circuits have gained popularity due to their suitability in integrated circuits. The two major problems faced by IC designers are: 1. Implementing a large-value resistor requires a large chip...__ Electronics Projects for You
Experimenting the 2051 with C Programming - I provide this page for beginners who interested in using C and Assembly for the 2051/4051 chips, e. g. , driving dot LED, scanning 7-segment and keypad, connecting dump terminal, stepper motor, SSR, interfacing I2C EEPROM, display driver, calculating CRC-16, etc. __ Designed by Wichit Sirichote

Exploring the PICAXE Micro-Controller - The PICAXE series of micro-controllers rank as the easiest and most cost effective way to use Microchip processors. I wanted an easier and less expensive way to introduce my students to the "PIC" micro-controller. Here I hope to get those starting out past poorly written literature and lack of simple working code examples. __ Designed by Lewis Loflin
Exposure countdown timer based on an Atmel ATtiny2313 - This is a countdown counter based on ATtiny2313, primary developed for my PCB exposure box, but it can be used for other purposes too. The counting range is between 1 and 90 minutes and it can be adjusted with up or down buttons (high and low in the pictures) . After the desired time is set, the countdown starts by pressing the start/stop button (on/off in the pictures) . By pressing the same button we can interrupt the counting at any time we want. __ AVR Projects Dim
