Solar Battery Charging - This instructable will show you how to make your own solar battery charger from very simple components. it is taken from my documentation provided with a kit I supply, you should easily be able to source the same components yourself of course. __
Solar Battery Protector Prevents Excessive Discharge - This circuit prevents the battery in a solar lighting system from being excessively discharged. it’s for small systems with less than 100W of lighting, such as several fluorescent lights, although with a higher rated Mosfet at the output, it could switch larger loads. The circuit has two comparators based on an LM393 dual op amp.__

Solar Cell Charger - These Circuits will allow for Voltage Regulation and isolation when Charging Lead Acid Batteries with a Solar Cell. __ Designed by G.L. Chemelec
Solar Cell NiCad Charger - Schematic & notes only, there is not a circuit description. __ Designed by Tony van Roon VA3AVR
Solar Cell Phone Charger - This little gadget uses a small 3 volt solar cell to charge a 6 volt NIC ad battery pack which, in turn, may be used to charge many models of cell phones and other portable devices with the addition of a suitable low-dropout voltage regulator. The circuit "scavenges" energy from the solar cell by keeping it loaded near 1.5 volts (maximum energy transfer value) and trickle charges the internal battery pack with current pulses. The simple circuit isn't the most efficient possible but it manages a respectable 70% at 100 mA from the cell and 30% when the cell is providing only 25 mA which is actually pretty good without going to a lot more trouble or using more exotic components. __ Contact: Charles Wenzel of Wenzel Associates, Inc.
Solar Cell Regulator - Our energy-hungry and environmentally aware society has been slow to make good use of the sun's "free" power. But now it's finally taking off. Using the sun's heat directly, for cooking and other applications, is already a common and popular technology in countries that have good weather. Hot-water panels are nowadays used in many parts of the world, in combination with a gas or electric powered water heater to help out when the weather doesn't help. But at the same time, electric solar panels are still expensive, justifying their use only as a novelty, or in locations where little power is needed, and bringing in commercial power would be even more expensive. __ Designed by Manfred Mornhinweg
Solar cell simulators - Mighty useful in testing and designing your 'bots. The 78L12 provides the regulated voltage required at the input of the solar cell simulator. it limits the voltage to 12V and the current to about 100ma. A 15V-24V unregulated voltage is used as the input to the 78L12. Any other regulated 9V-12V source can be used. __ Designed by Wilf Rigter
Solar Cell Test Fixture - if you are considering building your own solar panel, you might try building the solar cell tester shown below. When constructing a solar panel it is important to make sure that all the solar cells used in the panel be closely matched for their short circuit . . . Hobby Circuit designed by David Johnson P.E.-November, 2007
Solar cells implement low-cost illuminator - 09/12/97 EDN Design Ideas: he advent of inexpensive solar cells and low-cost "ultracapacitors" makes it possible to develop an entirely solar-powered inspection illuminator. Design by Dennis Eichenberg, Parma Heights, OH
Solar Charge Controller - PIC Project The previous version of this device used pulse width modulation (PWM) to control the power from the five solar panels to charge the battery bank. Under full sun conditions the MOSFETS got a bit warm and the whole unit radiated a lot of RFi. This design uses a set of relays, one for each panel. if the controller decides the battery voltage is too low, it engages another relay;.) __ Designed by Luhan Monat-Mesa Arizona

Solar Charged LED Utility Light - Tired of always spending money on flashlight batteries only to have them fail just when you need them? Try this simple circuit out. it would make an excellent science fair project. The white LEDs are quite bright, they provide enough light to illuminate a small room at night. The LEDs produce a nicely focused beam. You can read by the light of this device. __ Designed by G. Forrest Cook
