Jet Aircraft Engine Sound Generator - This is a simple sound generator to produce jet engine aircraft sounds and it will run on any battery voltage between 3v and 40v. The circuit will produce 4 sounds : low speed sound of aircraft, high speed sound of aircraft, missile and machine gun. They are activated by connecting pins 12, 13, 14 or 15 to ground respectively. __ Designed by Popescu Marian
Machine Gun - This circuit produces a sound very similar to a machine gun:__ 555-Timer
Metronome - A Universal Power supply based on the L200 regulator, which includes an outboard pass transistor to boost output currents up to 4 amps. __ Designed by Andy Collison
Metronome & Pitch Generator - CMOS
IC 1 and IC 2B quad AND gate form a 2.4576 MHz crystal oscillator plus a 2400 times divider. IC 3A provides further division by 16, delivering a 64 Hz stable frequency square wave. This frequency is multiplied (by means of Phase Locked Loop IC 5, double decade divider IC 4 and IC 3B 4 bit binary divider) by the number set by three miniature BCD thumbwheel switches SW1, SW2 and SW3: units, tens and hundreds respectively. __ Contact Flavio Dellepiane, fladello @ tin.it

Model Train Diesel & Horn Sound Module - A good friend of mine having just retired acquired as a gift a small gauge miniature train set and asked me if I would design something to simulate a diesel electric sound and horn for it. Looking for shortcuts I researched many already-published designs most of which used a digital transmitter and receiver. Dissatisfied with all of them I decided to design a system for universal application for any system up to 20 volts. __ Designed by © Laurier Gendron, Burnaby, B.C., Canada
Module Gives Voice to PC - EDN Design Ideas: 05/26/94 The circuit in Fig 1 uses the iSD1020A voice-record/playback chip (information Storage Devices, San Jose, CA, (800) 825-4473) to allow an iBM PC to speak and hear. The analog part of the circuitry comes from the company's application notes. The host PC controls address inputs (A0 through A7) , Chip Enable (CE) , Playback/Record (P/R) , and Power Down (PD). The host also—supposedly—monitors End Of Message flag (EOM). Design by Jerzy R Chrzaszcz, Institute of Computer Science, Warsaw University of Technology, Warsaw, Poland

NCO technique helps µC produce clean analog signals - EDN-Design ideas – April 15, 1999 [ NOTE: FILE has multiple design, scroll for this one.] A recent Design idea described a method for producing an analog voltage from one digital output of a µC ("Generate an analog signal with a µC, " EDN, Oct 22, 1998, pg 108). The method involves generating a PWM output with a controlled duty cycle and filtering the switching waveform with a simple single-pole RC filter. Although this method provide as an accurate dc output with 8 bits of resolution, it requires a filter with a low cutoff frequency to reduce the ripple to less than 1 LSB.
