Circuits Designed by Dave Johnson, P.E. :

Remote Range Extender TV/VCR -  I often get frustrated by how poor some infrared remotes in many new electronic devices operate.  I used to be able to turn on the TV from 30 feet away.  Now, it seems that I have to get within 15 feet.  To address this issue, I designed the circuit shown below.  The circuit taps into the TV remote’s existing infrared LED and drives 8 more efficient devices.  The result is a communications range some 4 to 5 times longer. . . . Hobby Circuit designed by David Johnson P.E.-December, 2000

Remote TV Camera Power -  A while back I received an email from a company with a problem.  They needed a security camera installed at some remote location.  The camera was a high quality color camera sending out standard NTSC video through a long 500 foot 50 ohm coax cable.  With some difficulty they got the coax strung.  They were told that there would be AC power near the camera location to power that device.  But, they then learned that in fact, there was no power available.  They thought about using a solar panel and a battery but they decided to call me for help instead.  Was there some way to power the camera without stringing another cable? . . . Hobby Circuit designed by David Johnson P.E.-July, 2011

RGB Colour Generator -  Presented here is a red, green and blue (RGB) colour generator using AT89C2051 microcontroller (MCU).  This is a simple and low-cost circuit for a multiple colour generator that can be built...__ Electronics Projects for You

RGB LED -  Lets have some practice and write simple AVR LCD menu routine.  For this we need to write LCD control library.  I decided not to use one from AVRLiB.  LCD controlling isn't difficult just a few lines of code unless you want to make it more universal__

RGB LED colour wash light -  This PIC  based circuit uses Red, Green and Blue high brightness LEDs that are pulse width modulated (PWM) to vary the intensity of each colour LED.  This allows effectively any colour to be generated.  The circuit is designed to fit into a low voltage Halogen light fitting.  A look up table is used to program__

RGB LED Showcase Light -  RGB LEDs are capable of generating a variety of colours by mixing red, green and blue colours.  it is sometimes very interesting to replace single-colour LEDs and produce different colour combinations...__ Electronics Projects for You

RGB Mood Lamp -  On this page I will explain how I created my own colour changing lamp with red, green and blue LEDs that fades between all colours of the rainbow.  it really comes out well at night when other light are dimmed.  in daylight conditions the colors aren't noticed well__

RGB pattern generator based on an Atmel ATtiny2313 running at 20MHz -  This is a pattern generator with 13 images and 1KHZ tone, good for testing LCD TV’s, projectors and cathode ray tube TV’s.  The project is based on ATtiny2313 running at 20MHZ.  The horizontal frequency is 15625HZ and the vertical frequency is 50HZ (Europe standard).  __ AVR Projects Dim

RGB Synchronizing Fireflies -  The author was triggered to propose this circuit to Elektor following the publication of Fun with Fireflies in the April 2010 edition.  The version shown here employs an ATtiny13 microcontroller and just one RGB LED and should be cheap and easy to build in large numbersmust register on this site __ Designed by Published in Elecktor July/Aug, 2010

S Video to Composite Video Adapter -  This simple adapter can be used to convert Y/C video (S-video) to a composite video.  This adapter is useful in cases where your video output device has only S-video output but your signal source accepts only composite video input.  This circuit works with both PAL and NTSC video standards.   __ Designed by Tomi Engdahl

Samsung Protect Circuit With La76931 -  Following is the protect circuit Samsung TV which use IC LA76931 as basic working the protect circuit. This Protect Circuit LA76891 located at pin-30 whichconnected to the collector of transistor Q902.in normal conditions the voltage at the base of Q902 is “low” and the voltage at pin-30 is “high”. For the temporary crippling protect, it can be__
